Meet Greg

Greg was elected to North Charleston City Council, District 1, on January 13, 2026, with a commitment to people-centered leadership and community-driven solutions.

Greg has spent nearly two decades investing in people and communities. In 2009, he founded a nonprofit organization that helped single mothers in North Charleston gain access to education and meaningful job opportunities. He created the organization out of a desire to be for others what he would want someone to be for him in the same circumstances. He has also served as a youth basketball coach, mentor, and volunteer chaplain at the Al Cannon Detention Center.

Throughout his service, Greg has worked in every part of North Charleston, organizing back-to-school drives, community cleanups, and homeless feedings—efforts rooted in the belief that strong communities are built through consistent action and care.

Greg’s commitment to improving North Charleston is reflected in his leadership roles. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Mediation and Meeting Center of Charleston, which provides pro bono and low-cost conflict resolution services, and on the Legislative Committee of the South Carolina Fair Lending Alliance, where he works to end predatory lending across the state.

Professionally, he works for a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) that expands affordable housing and supports small business growth in underserved communities. He previously worked as a certified K–12 teacher and adjunct professor.

Greg holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a Master of Science in Education, and graduate coursework toward an MBA from The Citadel. His work has always been driven by a commitment to people—meeting needs, building connections, and creating pathways to opportunity across North Charleston.
